More Details About the Tour
Pamukkale and Salda Lake Tour From Okurcalar is a nature and culture tour to beautiful Salda Lake which is known as Turkey’s Maldives and Pamukkale which is in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
Our first stop, Salda Lake, is located about 270 km to the northwest of Okurcalar . Salda Lake which is the cleanest lake in Turkey is also one of the deepest lakes (184 meters) in Turkey. Salda Lake is estimated to have formed about 2 million years ago. The water of the lake is less salty and has high alkaline properties. Because of Salda Lake’s location among the mountains and away from the main way of Burdur, Denizli, and Antalya, its natural beauty has been able to protect it until today. The nature park of Salda Lake has a wonderful combination of a white-sanded beach, pine and juniper-covered forests, and clear sky blue. The white sands that make Salda Lake so attractive resemble the Maldives. Because of that is known as the Maldives in Turkey. You will have the opportunity to walk on the sandy beach and swim in Salda Lake.
The second stop of the Salda Lake and Pamukkale tour from Okurcalar is the world-famous Pamukkale with its calcium terraces and the ancient city of Hierapolis next to it. Pamukkale which means ‘Cotton Castle’ in Turkish is located about 365 km from Okurcalar . Pamukkale , visited by millions of local and foreign tourists every year, is one of the important tourism centers of Turkey. The structure of Pamukkale, which has a magnificent white appearance like a cotton castle, was formed when the thermal spring waters coming from the depths met with the cold water air and left a calcium precipitate. Its thermal water is about 30 degrees and it is said to be good for some diseases. You can swim, walk and take wonderful photos on the terraces of Pamukkale.
The ancient city of Hierapolis was founded in the 2nd century BC. by Bergamons.Hierapolis which means ‘holy city’ experienced its brightest period during the Roman period. Philip, one of the apostles, lived here. Therefore, it is an important place of visit for Christians. The ruins of the city that have survived to the present day are spread over a large area. Among the ruins, the ancient theater, street columns, old cemetery and sarcophagi are interesting and worth seeing.
The Ancient Cleopatra thermal pool is located just above the Pamukkale terraces and on the lower side of the ancient city of Hierapolis. Just like Okurcalar Cleopatra beach, it is named after the Egyptian Queen Cleopatra due to the rumors that she swam here. Inside the pool, there are columns and wall pieces that were blown away as a result of the natural events of the ancient city. It is known that the thermal water of the pool, which has a temperature of 36 degrees in summer and winter, is healing. Legends are told that those who swim in the past become younger. You can swim in the ancient Cleopatra pool for a fee.

What can I say this tour was super easy to book, we were kept informed by the tour operator as to the information about pick up time, drivers name and even the reg number prior to our pick up. I would highly recommend booking with these people. Now onto the Lion park. An amazing private tour and I would highly recommend this for anyone. Having time with the Lions was out of this world and being able to hold them and be around them was nothing short of unbelievable. The babies were very cuddly and even the older ones wanted to play but we couldn’t cuddle these ones just stroke them. What made this extra special the guide invited us back in when the rest of the group went and we got to watch them play and roll around and had more of a chat about them. Truly one of the best experiences we have ever did. We paid to feed the 2 females and male and he was right above us which got us as close as safe as we could be to them . The Male Lion gave us a show too. We got to see his teeth up close and my husband was brave enough to even touch his paw and he let out a roar. All the animals were well looked after which was lovely to see, you could see they really cared for them. I would 100% return and do this tour again.Posted on Esthefania ReyesTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. It was evident that great care had been taken in choosing the locations, as every stop added something special and memorable to the journey. The activities were simply spectacular—well-planned, engaging, and a perfect balance between fun, learning, and relaxation. Every detail was thoughtfully arranged, which made the whole experience even more remarkable. It was so incredible that we left feeling truly in love with the place, its beauty, and everything this adventure gave us. Without a doubt, I would highly recommend this tour to anyone looking for quality, safety, enjoyment, and unforgettable moments.
